Sun-powered fitness reaps rewards!
Krannich Solar and Sunburst Solar have joined forces to connect a 525kWp system to the national grid at the Mount Laurel International Sports Centre and Future Fitness Facilities in New Jersey.
Using over 2280 Axitec 230watt polycrystalline panels, more than 16450 feet of aluminum Everest FlatRail and inverters from Fronius, the output from the system aims to offset 85% of the energy used to power the arcade, roller skating rink and turf field in one building as well as the huge gym and pool in the other.
Although this is the first major Axitec installation in the United States, Axitec GmbH has been successful throughout Europe for over 10 years, offering high quality German engineered and quality controlled solar modules with industry-leading product and performance warranties and bankability.
Juan Romera-Wade, CEO of Krannich Solar USA, said, “Right from the outset we were excited to be involved in the development and implementation of this project. The result demonstrates how solar can be a financially viable investment for companies with high energy demands.”
Jeff Cantwell, COO of Sunburst Solar added, “this project shows that solar can be a great option for high energy users especially when the equipment supplier works closely with the developer”.
